updates for storefront improvements program

Storefront Improvement Program Updates

Please see the letter below from the Philadelphia Department of Commerce including a video regarding Philadelphia’s Storefront Improvement Program. If you’ve been following along, you’ll remember that the BID has already managed to complete three storefronts this year, with others in the works.

If you are interested in improving your storefront, please let Donny know by emailing donny@mayfairbid.org.

The Storefront Improvement Program application is now online. The SIP helps businesses and property owners located within specific Philadelphia neighborhood shopping areas improve their storefronts. We have phased out the paper application and have created an online form to make it easier for applicants to apply for the program. More info about the SIP program, including details about who is eligible, a link to the application, and how the application process works can be found at https://www.phila.gov/programs/storefront-improvement-program/

We are excited to share a video where business owners on N 5th Street in Olney talk about the importance of having a good storefront. We think that this video could be a great tool for you to share with businesses in your neighborhood where they can hear from businesses just like theirs about why the appearance of the storefront is important. Special thanks to the Community Design Collaborative and North 5th Street Revitalization Project.

If you have any questions about the SIP program, please email SIP@phila.gov.

Sincerely,

Kareema
