13 Oct Philadelphia Police Urge Businesses to take Burglary Prevention Steps
The Philadelphia Police Department is seeing an uptick in commercial burglaries where criminals are targeting restaurants, bars, and other businesses during overnight hours and on days when businesses are closed.
The department has prepared a commercial burglary tip guide (attached) to help you take steps to make your business a less appealing target. In addition, it is deploying additional resources to areas that have been impacted by these crimes.
Business owners, remember to keep their businesses well-lit during the evening hours both inside as well as outside. As always, if you see something suspicious, please don’t hesitate to call 911. The BID is here to help you in any way we can.
If you’d like to enroll in the city’s SafeCAM Program where you can receive up to a 50% reimbursement for an outdoor camera system (up to $3,000), please contact Donny Smith at email@example.com know and he will gladly help you get started.
