23 Jun Philadelphia Parking Authority Literature & Update
The BID has heard your complaints about the new parking kiosks and has toured the Avenue with representatives from the Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) to further address the issues, specifically, the lack of information about the new kiosks, and the poor or lacking signage. PPA officials agreed with the issues raised and as a result of the tour they will be:
- Removing confusing signage and signage clutter
- Adding additional signage to each block
- Removing meter poles
Once the signage work is completed, people should expect to find at least one parking sign at the beginning, middle, and end of each block where visitors are required to pay to park. The meter poles will be removed; however, an exact timeline could not be provided at this time.
With respect to literature, we have received in the mail a handful of informational pamphlets and keyring tabs (see photo on right) where customers can write their license plate numbers on the back and attach to their keyring. Since customers will now need to know their license plate numbers in order to park, these could be very helpful, especially for our seniors.
If you would like some literature and tabs, please reach out to Donny Smith at Donny@MayfairBID.org. There is currently a limited amount of literature and tabs.
