HB 425 has passed in Harrisburg and will allow restaurants and caterers to extend premises within one-thousand feet of the main licensed building until December 31, 2024. The bill is headed to the House for concurrence and is expected to pass.
HB 425 highlights:
- Allows a licensee that goes out of business to sell their liquor and wine to another licensee
- Streamlines outdoor seating provisions
- Eliminates the $500 fee for off-premise catering permits, allows an unlimited number of permits, and eliminates the 5-hour cap for events
The bill can be found HERE and includes additional details regarding the safekeeping of liquor licenses for those who are impacted by this issue.
