22 Oct Father Judge Announces Appointment Of Tom Coyle As Athletic Director

Father Judge High School is proud to announce the appointment of Tom Coyle ’87 as the new Athletic Director.

For the last 12 years, Tom has served as the Assistant Director of Admissions/ Athletics Liaison as well as the Head Football Coach at William Penn Charter School. Before that, Tom worked at Father Judge High School serving as the Admissions Director and Head Football Coach from 2000 to 2010.

Tom, who grew up in St. Timothy’s Parish, is a graduate from the FJ Class of 1987. During his tenure as a student Tom was a two-sport athlete, 1987 Bense Award winner who was lucky enough to have been coached by Judge icons, Bill Fox, and John “Whitey” Sullivan.

In discussing the selection process, FJ President Brian Patrick King ’97 noted, “I have had the privilege of knowing Tom Coyle for a long time personally and professionally. He is a Hall of Fame Crusader Award recipient and a natural leader of men who believes in the mission of Father Judge. I am confident that his skill set and focus on the student-athlete experience will elevate the Athletic Department and provide more opportunities for the young men we serve.”

Tom Coyle said, “I would like to thank President Brian King, board members, and school administration for allowing me the opportunity to serve as the Director of Athletics. In this role, I look forward to partnering with our coaches and members of the faculty in providing the best student-athlete experience for families enrolling their sons at Father Judge High School. This work is important, and I am excited that I will be returning to 3301 Solly Avenue.”

Mr. Coyle will assume his role as Athletic Director on November 11, 2024. We congratulate him and pray for his success in this new role and next chapter of FJ Athletics.
